What is inside

Start Here
A short how-to, how to clear the example data, and a note if you import the file into Google Sheets.
Income
Two earners, weekly or fortnightly or monthly pay converted to monthly, and a 3.5% KiwiSaver deduction. That default rises to 4% in April 2028.
Monthly Budget
NZ household categories from rent or mortgage through to savings. Spending from the tracker rolls up here. Over budget turns red. On track turns green.
Spending Tracker
Dated transactions with category dropdowns. Add rows as you go.
Deposit Savings
A house price, a 20%, 10%, or 5% deposit, money already saved, and months to the goal.
Dashboard
Spending by category, budget vs actual, a monthly spend trend, and progress towards the deposit.

Rows that start with Example: are sample data. Delete them, then add your own. There are no macros. In Excel and LibreOffice the formula boxes stay locked. Google Sheets often lets you type in those boxes after import.
